South Seas House

Los Angeles, CA 90018
Pamela Bruner, 323.300.6077 or 323.373.9483
Formally known as the Joseph Dupuy Residence, the South Seas House is a turn-of-the 20th-century house turned community center. Located in the historic West Adams District, the South Seas House was renovated to create a gathering place for the community. The house was saved from demolition by proactive and committed neighborhood residents, who convinced their local official to secure funding to restore it for use by the areas families. Nearly $1 million went into its extensive interior and exterior renovation. The 'South Seas House' got it more popular name because if the strong Polynesian architectural influence of the original structure.
The House is owned, managed, and staffed by the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. FSS has operated a community technology program at the South Seas House since summer 2004 (and we love the 'digs'). For more information on the South Seas House, contact the L. A. Department of Recreation and Parks staff at 323.373.9483, or United Neighborhoods of the Historic Arlington Heights, West Adams and Jefferson Park Communities Neighborhood Council.

Harvard Heights
Harvard Heights Community Network launched in the spring of 2003 -- the Harvard Heights neighborhood of the FSS co-founders, was also home to the organization's wireless community network and the focus of our early community networking efforts. Harvard Heights Community (WiFi) Network was designed to benefit all neighborhood stakeholders. Harvard Heights, also in Mid-City Los Angeles, is home to a culturally and economically diverse resident and business population.
