Since 2003, Project T.E.C.H. as served has an IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), providing free tax preparation and electronic filling services to low and moderate income working families residing in Mid-City Los Angeles and surrounding communities. Project T.E.C.H. is a partner in the Los Angeles County EITC-Campaign Partnership and the Southern California Tax Assistance Program. LA EITC-Campaign Partnership members include the the County and City of Los Angeles, IRS, Children's Planning Council, United Way of Greater Los Angeles, HUD, FDIC, Citibank, Broad Spectrum CDC, ACORN, and many more community and faith-based organizations.

The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is a federal credit worth up to $4,300+ for qualified low-to-moderate income workers per year. The EITC serves as an important asset-building tool for low-income families.

BTW . . . we are always looking for great volunteers for our VITA program. Free training is available and the people are great! Contact us if you are interested in becoming a VITA volunteer.

Project T.E.C.H. is also involved with the HUD-Los Angeles Financial Education Collaborative comprise of local banking institutions and community organizations are working together to provide financial literacy and education programs and services to low and moderate income families.
