Basic Skills-Introduction to Computers & the Internet
Do you know how to use a mouse, open a file on the computer, run a program or browse the internet? If you don’t, then this class is for you. Basic Skills is intended for those who have no experience in using a computer. Participants will become familiar with PC hardware components, the Windows operating system; file management, and much more.
Description: This is a beginning class for persons with minimal or no previous experience in using a computer. This class meets Monday and Wednesday
Objective: Participants will become familiar with PC hardware components, the windows operation system, the internet and World Wide Web. By the end of the course participants will have: (1) created at least 3 personal files on the computer; (2) set up a personal e-mail account; (3) learned how to search for resources online.
Lates & Absences: Class starts at - please arrive on time. If you are more than 30 minutes late, it will be counted as an absence. If you know you will be absent or late, please tell your instructor in advance. If you have 3 unexcused absences, you will be dropped from the class.
Projects & Assignments: There will be 5 or more projects assigned during this course. You must complete and turn in at least 50% of the assignments to the instructor to have successfully completed the course.
